A must-win game for Mamelodi Sundowns against Maritzburg United

The next clash for Mamelodi Sundowns is a must-win against Maritzburg United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday the 21st. The Team of Choice comes into this game after a loss to Black Leopards, they are currently in position six on the log standings with thirty-nine points after twenty-five games.

Lebo Maboe who is a former United player shared his feelings about the upcoming clash, “they have always been an ambitious team with dedicated players and they did up their game recently.”

The last meeting between Masandawana and United was in the Telkom Knockout, where we defeated them by 3 goals to 1, to lift the first trophy of the current season. The restart of football has been challenging to all the sides and prior to lockdown, the Harry Gwala based side were on a good run.

“The lockdown would affect them and seeing how they played in their opening game shows that. If you look at us, we also haven’t been the free-flowing side that we are known for, but it’s only a matter of time before it shows,” said Maboe.

The match takes place at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday at 18:00 and will be broadcasted on SuperSport 4
