TAU TO THE RESCUE Percy Tau scored his second goal of the season for RSC Anderlecht to salvage a 2-2 draw against KV Oostende in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League on Friday night.
Tau made his first start for Anderlecht after coming off the bench to win a penalty in their 1-1 draw with Excel Mouscron last Sunday.
Vincent Kompany’s charges were off to a bad start after Robbie D’Haese gave Oostende the lead in the 11th minute with a strike from the centre of the box into the top corner.
Tau was heavily involved as Anderlecht were probing for the equaliser, giving Jeremy Doku and Antoine Colassin chances before the half-hour mark but the two players could not find the target.
However, the visitors were in further trouble in the 33rd minute after Marco Kana conceded a penalty from a handball inside the box and Makhtar Gueye converted the spot-kick with a strike into the bottom corner to give Oostende a two-goal lead.
Anderlecht pulled a goal back straight from the restart as Adrien Trebel netted with a strike from outside the box that found the top corner.
Tau was substituted in the last minute, with Landry Dimata coming on in his place as Anderlecht were chasing a winner but Oostende held on for the share of the spoils, as Kompany’s troops moved up to fifth while the hosts picked up only their second point of the season.
