Will Khune returns in goal for Chippa clash?

Daniel AkpeyiAkpeyi suffered a concussion on Sunday evening against Bidvest Wits, after coming out to punch a cross which consequently lead to a nasty collision with Mxolisi Macuphu. The shtopper has been ruled for the remainder of the season and there could be a possibility that this would open the door for Itumeleng Khune’s return.

Khune’s absence from the squad has caused much controversy in the football fraternity. Will the coach give the Captain the benefit or he will stick to young Bruce Bvuma who did not have an ideal return to action, as he conceded a goal in injury time which saw Chiefs end the encounter with a 1-0 loss.

The supporters have been calling the coach to filled the experience khune for long time and this is a big task for coach Middendorp, who is expected to lean on goalkeeper coach, Baxter to make the final call.

It’s been suggested that fitness issues have relegated ‘Mzansi’s finest’ to fourth-choice at The Glamour Boys but with Akpeyi now ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a concussion and Chiefs’ precarious title battle with Sundowns, fans on Twitter have called for his swift return to the starting eleven.

Chiefs remain top of the log, though lead only by goal difference. They will face off with Chippa United and Baroka FC in the final two league encounters of the 2019/20 campaign.
