Itumeleng Khune could be on his way out of the door at Chiefs after more than a decade at the club.
The keeper has fallen out of favour with management as is keen to get more time between the sticks, which cannot be guaranteed by Hunt an company.
Khune’s possible move appears to have divided Kaizer Chiefs top brass, but in playing terms it seems unlikely he will ever command the number one spot again.
“The Chiefs management is divided whether to keep him or not,” a source told KickOff.com.
“There is concern with his age and salary if they have to offer him new contract. By the looks of things both parties are headed for divorce.”
Trio set for Kaizer Chiefs exit
Bernard Parker, Willard Katsande and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya have all been linked with departures from Naturena at the end of the current season.
Kaizer Chiefs on recruitment drive
Kaizer Chiefs talks with Ruzaigh Gamildien have reportedly advanced with Gavin Hunt’s side close to reaching a deal to take on the veteran striker from next season.
The decision to go after the 31-year-old striker has raised some eyebrows but he is believed to be seen as a short-term solution to some of Kaizer Chiefs problems in the final third.
