New Bafana Coach Broos vows to bring back old glory

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos met members of the media on Wednesday afternoon where he again reiterated his lofty ambitions to take South Africa back to the top of Africa and the world.

In an hour-long interaction, Broos spelt out his vision but pleaded with football fans to be patient with what he wants to do and achieve with the Senior Men’s National team.

Coach Broos shocked the football world when he led an Indomitable Lions (Cameroon) side to a gold medal in Gabon in 2017 and has vowed to do his best to return South Africa to the top.
He however asked the public not to expect instant results but to exercise patience.

He said qualification for Qatar 2022 should not be the main priority but the emphasis should be on 2023 AFCON going forward.

He added though that he would give it his best shot to still qualify for Qatar. Bafana Bafana are in Group G, together with Ghana, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe.
