Smouha president Farag Amer has revealed that Pitso Mosimane is keen on bringing back Ahmed Abdelkader following the end of the player’s loan spell at the Blues.
In a one-sided game, Smouha suffered a massive 4-0 defeat against Al Ahly in the 28th round fixture of the Egyptian Premier League
Following the game, Mosimane was seen talking to Al Ahly loanee Ahmed Hamdi Abdelkader, who started for Smouha in the game.
According to Farag Amer, the reason behind the chat was that Mosimane wants Abdelkader back at Al Ahly next season following the end of his loan spell.
The 22-year-old has been having an incredible season with Smouha, scoring seven goals while assisting three in 21 league games.
“We played an open game, we tried to attack and snatch an early goal which would have taken the game to a different way,” Amer said.
“I spoke to Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib after the game and he was impressed by the performance of multiple Smouha players.
“Mosimane had a brief conversation with Abdelkader before leaving the stadium, in which he expressed his desire to bring back the attacking midfielder to Al Ahly.
“Ahmed Abdelkader was out of service during the match, that’s completely natural after being strangely excluded from the U-23 national team squad that’s leaving for Tokyo Olympics,” Amer added.
