Mosimane on Contractors win, resting players for Chiefs game, Petrosport size

Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has expressed his delight following the hard-fought victory over Arab Contractors while discussing the size of Petrosport stadium.

Mosimane’s men struggled to break the deadlock for long periods but held firm and nicked all three points with goals in the final 11 minutes from Salah Mohsen and Mohamed Sherif.

The victory is the only thing Al Ahly needed in order to keep their title bid on track, while Arab Contractors targeted the draw in order to distance themselves from the relegation zone.

Speaking after the game, Pitso said: “A very difficult match. We tried from the first minute to score goals, and the opponent tried to stop us, and if the opponent thought about scoring goals, they would have counterattacked.

“We achieved our goal by winning and not conceding. We had to be patient, although the pressure was increasing on us with the passage of time.

“We had to change our method. If we continued in the same way, we wouldn’t have scored, so we reduced the number of defenders and added a numerical increase in the midfield and attack.
