Stellenbosch bolster their defence.

The 26 years old former Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits defender Zitha Macheke, joins Stellenbosch on a free transfer after the club’s sale to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

He had 34 appearances for the Students in the 2019/20 season and will now bolster Steve Barker’s defence as an option at full-back and centre-back for the upcoming season.

“Stellenbosch is pleased to announce its latest acquisition in the successful signing of Zitha Macheke from Bidvest Wits,” the club confirmed on their official Twitter account. 

Macheke has amassed over 100 appearances in the South African top-flight and featured six times in the Students CAF Confederation Cup campaign last season.
