A QUALIFYING GOAL PROMOTES BAROKA’s RICHARD MBULI TO SERGEANT

Avantmalawi can independently confirm- Richard Mbulu a footballer, who plays for Baroka FC – South Africa and a Malawian soldier, has since been promoted from corporal to Sergeant.

Avantmalawi reporter gathers the promotion comes after Sergeant Mbulu scores against Uganda some weeks ago at Kamuzu Stadium which saw through Malawi national football team (the flames) smiling to African Cup of All Nations (AFCON) 2022.

The Development comes as a motivating factor to Sergeant Mbulu for scoring a qualifying goal against Uganda.

However, in the civil service the Development has been received with mixed views, some players who were also featured in the Uganda game like Micium Mhone and Mozambique based John C.J Banda who also happens to be Malawian soldiers could not receive such promotions.

In the same way, Teacher’s who are the foundation of Education in the country could strike for years without a recognition or and promotions, could we say one must score a goal to be promoted? Must we say most of promotions in civil service goes with being connected or being famous? If not, as a nation can’t we cement the civil service, or can’t we atleast advance the Neef loans to civil service to allow them equal opportunity to motivation.

Weeks ago, President Chakwera hosted the flames where he gave K1 million to every player featured in the game, K700,000 to those on the bench and K350,000 to those who were civilians.
