Kaizer Chiefs’ rebuilding phase continued yesterday after they released Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.
Mphahlele’s contract was to expire at the end of the month and the club opted to not extend the relationship, while Ntiya-Ntiya was released after he struggled for regular game time.
Kaizer Chiefs have opted to not extend Ramahlwe Mphahlele’s contract when it expires at the end of the month.
The talented defender arrived at Chiefs ahead of the 2016/17 season from Mamelodi Sundowns. His Amakhosi debut came on the opening day of the DStv Premiership season on 23 August 2016 against Wits. He played a total of 127 official matches in his six seasons with the Glamour Boys, working with different coaches.
Ntiya-Ntiya joined Chiefs’ development ranks before being promoted to the senior team in January 2018. He made his DStv Premiership debut on 6 January 2018 against SuperSport United in Mbombela.
He played a total of 54 matches for the senior team in Gold & Black colours.
He was part of the Chiefs team that went to two finals, the Nedbank Cup in 2019 and the CAF Champions League last year.
The 25-year-old Ntiya-Ntiya has been given his clearance and will be able to join a team of his choice.
