BREAKING: Elias Mokwana part ways with Esperance Tunis
Bafana Bafana international Elias Mokwana has parted ways with Esperance Tunis due to breach of contract.
Mokwana has not been paid in the months he spent with the Tunisian giants.
Mokwana, who was the subject of serious interest from Kaizer Chiefs before putting pen to paper to join the Tunisian giants, is now a free agent with his contract terminated.
Mokwana’s attorney Kabelo Mashigo said it is clear both parties have reached a deadlock in their negotiations and they will look for the next alternative.
“Much of the issues are confidential,” he explained.
“But I can confirm that the club is in breach of the agreement. We provided them with notice to rectify the breach. They have not complied, leaving the player with no option but to accept the repudiation. Elias is focusing on the call-up now and once that is done, we will consider the next step.”
