DURBAN CITY FC ANNOUNCE HUNT ARRIVAL

Durban City Football Club is delighted to officially announce the appointment of Gavin Hunt as the Club’s new Head Coach ahead of the 2025 /2026 Betway Premiership Season.

With a distinguished career spanning more than two decades at the top level of South African Football, Hunt brings a wealth of experience, having won multiple league titles and domestic trophies. His strong leadership style and results driven approach aligns perfectly with Durban City’s ambitions as we prepare for the upcoming 2025/2026 Betway Premiership Season.


Club Chairman, Farook Kadodia expressed his confidence in the new appointment;
“We are thrilled to welcome Gavin to Durban City. His record speaks for itself and we believe he is the right person to lead our team into this exciting new era. His professionalism, football knowledge and winning mentality are exactly what the Club needs as we strive to compete at the highest level”

Hunt is a well-travelled coach having been with no fewer than seven different teams in his coaching career in the PSL era.

He enjoyed huge success with SuperSport United during his first stint as well as the now defunct Bidvest Wits.

Hunt also had unsuccessful spells with both Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United before returning to Matsatsantsa for a second stint.
